The Yuruginai Konjō

We hide in the shadows... ; The Yuruginai Konjō is a yakuza-base family within the Mists that has strong ties and connections to Hingashi proper. The family originally started in Hingashi, and ICly there is a base in Hingashi which allows for most of the money-laundering to occur along with the easy of exportation of highly illegal drugs from Hingashi into Eorzea. It is a crime syndicate with a connection to darker organizations. These are folk who do a variety of tasks such as hitmen jobs, bounties, collections of funds from 'protected' businesses, illegal organ donors, personal missions, and simply beating the fuck out of people.

Who is she? ; While she is small and elegant, she is the leading woman in The Kami's Embrace and The Yuruginai Konjō.A Hingan native, she enjoys displaying her culture in a variety of aspects and allowing those who are unfamiliar with it to experience the wonders of Hingashi. She is the oldest child that Yamato Tanaka has, who is the current head of the Tanaka house. Heir to her father's legacy, the woman has large shoes to fill and an even larger ego to match.Any important matters on either fronts are answered to by her.

The Yuruginai KonjōUnderneath the ostentatious excess, oceanic delights, and suffocating incense, there lurks a sinister force within the Kami’s Embrace. The oiran are silk hiding steel, friendly faces to entice and disarm clients, but behind each one is a member of the Family tasked with protecting the business in other matters. Bruisers, hitmen, spies, chemists, fixers, thieves, smugglers - the details matter less than the goal: The proliferation of the Tanaka empire, in Momoka’s name, no matter how many enemies she makes.Kami’s Embrace is recruiting operatives to participate in an opt-in FFXIV adaptation of the Forged in the Dark system started by another crime FC, Chikage, to expand the “crime family” elements of the FC, and potentially structure story engagements with a broader criminal RP network.The system is used to structure in-game activities that will flesh out the Embrace’s criminal agenda, including consequences (good and bad) that will be publicly apparent during our venue nights and to non-participants. This opt-in system entails the use of an online sheet used to supplement the activities that occur inside FFXIV during operations. It is more structured than the formless /roll 1000 systems that some other FCs use, but easier to learn and use than something like D&D.Interested operatives should join the discord, read and agree to the FC’s general rules, and then carefully consult the information for Yuruginai Konjō before applying. Experience in playing Blades in the Dark (or another Forged in the Dark adaptation) is appreciated but not required.OiranThe backbone of Momoka's wealth, the oiran are workers trading in intimacy and company under the protection of the Tanakas. They seek the Embrace, either because it provides them access to the exclusive and wealthy clientele that network with the proprietor, or because circumstance has left them little other choice. They are cared for... provided they hold their end of the bargain.Kami's Embrace is recruiting oiran (courtesans) to act as the hosts and hostesses of the venue's monthly night. Prospective applicants should join the discord, read and agree to the FC's general rules, and then carefully consult the information for the Oiran before applying.Note that due to the nature of the FC, the in-character circumstances of an oiran's working relationship may be harsher than a lighter-RP environment. They are often victims of chance, and while they can even scrape together a life of exquisite luxury under the Oyabun, it may come at the cost of their freedoms.EntertainersNo evening at Kami's Embrace is complete without the atmosphere provided by its entertainers. These performers bring the venue's elegance to life with song and dance, wowing its particular clientele with exoticisms from around the world.Kami's Embrace regularly hosts in-character only performances during its monthly Foreplay event. Entertainers can choose exactly how involved they want to be with the FC - they are, both in-fiction and out-of-character, expected to flit in and out as their schedules allow.Entertainers can apply to join the roster through the discord. They should read and agree to the general FC rules and consult the Expectations for Guards and Entertainers. When venue nights are announced, notifications are sent out to solicit performance pitches from entertainers, which are delivered in-character the night of.
